We’ve been allowed to take our cameras into various organised sex parties since 2019, and we’ve been capturing moments of lust, desire, and pain ever since. The sticky floors, bodily fluids, smell of latex, rubber, and body odour, paired with moans, groans, and the thump of music, create a unique landscape- a multi-sensory experience. And often, a fogged camera lens.
These spaces, devoted to human pleasure, exploration, and expression, are of huge cultural importance. Their existence is often political- sometimes radical. These spaces are under scrutiny from both the law and the very communities that frequent them. Are we living in a time where we’re seeing a revival and reimagination of sex spaces, or are we still outsiders?
Our images document the people who attend and the spaces that surround them. These photographs are their history - a moment in time when they were arguably most alive, vulnerable, and free. Saying we feel grateful and privileged to photograph these events is an understatement.
